Bottle Redemption Made Simple

JD’S Redemption Center makes it easy to return eligible bottles and cans in East Waterboro, Maine. Bring us your clean, empty beverage containers purchased in the State of Maine, and our team will hand-count them for you.

We keep the process straightforward. There are no quantity limits, no sorting requirements, and no specific bag or box requirements. Your bottles and cans just need to be clean and empty, not crushed, not broken, and eligible for Maine redemption.

Whether you are bringing in a small bag from home, a larger return from camp, or returns for a local bottle drive, we are here to help.

What Bottles and Cans We Can Accept

JD’S accepts eligible Maine returnable beverage containers that meet basic redemption requirements.

Containers must be:

  • Clean and empty
  • Not crushed
  • Not broken
  • Purchased in the State of Maine
  • Eligible under Maine’s redemption system

We may refuse containers that do not meet these requirements. This helps keep the process safe, accurate, and manageable for our redemption team.

If you are not sure whether a container can be redeemed, bring it in and we will do our best to help.

No Sorting, No Quantity Limits, No Bag or Box Rules

You do not need to sort your bottles and cans before bringing them to JD’s. You also do not need to meet a minimum or stay under a maximum quantity. We do not have specific bag or box requirements either.

That means you can bring in your eligible Maine returnables in the way that works best for you, as long as the containers are clean, empty, not crushed, and not broken.

For very large loads, you are welcome to call ahead with questions, but it is not required. Our team will work through returns as efficiently as possible.

Why Labels and Container Condition Matter

Labels and container markings help us identify the product and determine where the container needs to go for proper processing. That is why containers should not be crushed, flattened, broken, or missing key identifying information.

Clean containers also help protect our staff and keep the redemption area running smoothly. Sticky, dirty, broken, or damaged containers can slow down the process and may not be accepted.

The simple rule: bring containers back clean, empty, intact, and purchased in Maine.

Bottle Drives and Fundraising

JD’S proudly supports local bottle drives and fundraising efforts. Dozens of organizations use bottle returns as a simple way to raise money for teams, schools, causes, and community groups.

To set up a bottle drive, the organization simply needs to call or stop by JD’S. Once the drive is set up, supporters can dedicate eligible bottle and can returns to that organization.

JD’S does not promote one bottle drive over another. Each organization is responsible for advertising its own drive to supporters. We make the redemption side easy, so your group can focus on spreading the word and reaching your fundraising goals.

Counted by Hand, Not a Machine

At JD’S, returns are counted by hand by our redemption team.

Hand-counting helps us carefully process returns, answer questions, and maintain a personal level of service. It also means our staff is actively reviewing containers as they come through, so container condition matters.

We work as quickly as we can while keeping the process accurate and organized. Larger returns may naturally take a little longer, especially during busy times.
